Interested in standing as a candidate for the Luxembourg local staff committee?

The Luxembourg local staff committee (LSC) elections will take place before the end of the year. Are you interested? Are you a potential candidate? If you’ve ever thought about getting more involved in what’s happening outside your day to day, outside your building, outside your staff category or even beyond the Luxembourg site itself, then this is your moment!

Have you ever marveled at how some people can point you to the perfect rule or the right phrase for you to get what you need? Have you ever received guidance or help from a trade union or staff association and think you could now maybe learn how to do the same for others?  Are you curious about the just-about-to-go-live large scale review [1] and want to have your say [2]?

In Luxembourg we’ve been looking at the CALux 12 actions [3], the national minimum wage [4], the new Luxembourg-specific EPSO restrictions [5], disparities [6] between Luxembourg and Brussels, ‘voluntary’ standby [7], together with the housing allowance [8] and its limitations.

Generation 2004 is always enthusiastic about transparency and informed decision-making [9], we show colleagues where to find the information they need and guide them through the processes to exercise their rights. We’d also like to make it easier to vote [10]: taking the best practice to make the staff representation more accessible.

While the staff representation can be a sometimes-steep learning curve [11], it can also be enormously rewarding, whether you find yourself helping individuals to ask to have something looked at again (a failed probation [12], a less-than-expected medical reimbursement [13]) or you’re pointing out where provisional plans miss something important, you can make a difference!

Have a look at what we do [14] and consider whether this might be a something you’d like to know more about, or even learn to do.

Generation 2004, we’re here for you!

As always, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in becoming more involved or if you are thinking of standing in the November 2025 Luxembourg Local Staff Committee elections, please get in touch [15]!

If you appreciate our work, please consider becoming a member of Generation 2004 [16].
