At the end of last year, Generation 2004 once again confirmed its strong position in the Local Staff Committee elections in Luxembourg, retaining the title of the biggest single staff organisation in the European Commission. This result reflects the trust colleagues place in our work and the commitment of our candidates and members.
We are now launching a call for candidates for the upcoming Local Staff Committee elections at the European Commission Petten site, starting, where the election process is expected to move very quickly.
Petten: Elections Imminent
At the European Commission Petten site, preparations for the elections are already underway, with the General Assembly already scheduled for 27 January. Colleagues who are interested in standing as candidates are therefore encouraged to come forward as soon as possible.
Why Stand as a Candidate?
Staff representation matters more than ever. Colleagues are facing increasing workload, ongoing organisational changes, uncertainty around careers, and growing pressure on work–life balance. Local Staff Committees play a key role in:
- Defending staff rights and working conditions
- Ensuring transparency and fairness in decision-making
- Giving colleagues a strong and credible collective voice
- Feeding local concerns into wider institutional dialogue
Standing as a candidate means actively shaping change and being part of the solution.
Who Can Apply?
We are looking for motivated colleagues from all staff categories and backgrounds. Previous experience in staff representation is welcome but not required. What matters most is motivation, commitment and a willingness to work constructively for colleagues.
You will not stand alone, Generation 2004 provides coordination, guidance and a strong support network at both local and central level.
