Generation 2004 presents its candidates for the Karlsruhe LSC elections. We have put together a well balanced list that represents a wide range of Commission staff.
Meet our team!
A few short messages from our candidates
My name is Ivona, I have been here for 8 years, first as an interim, 6 years as a CA and now an additional year as a TA. I work for G.1 and G.2 (Central Coordination and Wing M) and am assigned to 20% of the working group Dir G Communication in the context of agile working. Some of you know me as the “bird protection lady” and others as the EPSO-Test helper here on site.
I am applying for the selection to keep supporting my colleagues with the EPSO tests by providing them with equipment, rooms and other help as far as I can, but also to support the CAs with their specific topics.
My Name is Gedas, I’m Lithuanian graduated IT engineer with 17 years of experience in IT field currently working as a contract agent for T6 unit.
I have started my career in Karlsruhe as external service provider. Recently I got opportunity to apply for one of the positions in T6 unit and was selected for FGIII position in Karlsruhe. I am excited to learn more about IT in nuclear field and take on new challenges.
With my experience starting as external service provider I bring a deep understanding of issues and a commitment improving working conditions and seeking career within EC.
I have always been passionate about sharing my experience and knowledge with colleagues. Sharing experiences sparks fresh ideas and approaches.
As a result of contribution together with Generation 2004 members we have created a Teams communication group of Karlsruhe site Contract Agents.
I am Enrico Gruber and I have been working at the JRC since 2015, initially as an external employee and since 2022 as a contract agent.
I am responsible for security technology and hazard detection systems at the institute.
I am a helpful, positive and communicative person.
I would like to bring these qualities to the Local Staff Council in order to be available as a trustworthy contact person for my colleagues on site.
My name is Anna and I have been working in Medical Service JRC Karlsruhe since 2010.
At our site, all colleagues know me personally from the annual blood tests, medical examinations and more…
Promoting general health and a healthy work environment is at the heart of my candidacy. With my experience and commitment, I am here to ensure that our needs are heard.
Let us work together and put health at the heart of our work. Thank you for your support!
I have been working at JRC since 2020 as part of Unit GII.8 within the Eusectra team.
I am committed to helping my colleagues navigate local challenges, and I believe that fostering a supportive and positive environment is essential for our growth and well-being.
I strive to foster an atmosphere of respect and open communication, ensuring that everyone feels supported.
As someone who is approachable and solution-oriented, I’m always ready to offer assistance and find effective ways to address any issues. I am here to listen, support, and advocate for our collective well-being. Thank you for your trust and support!
I have been working for the EU for 15 years, first in Brussels (Council and DG REGIO) and since 2015 at the JRC Karlsruhe. I am an AST and work for Unit R.7 as a Procurement Officer.
I have been a staff representative in the Local Staff Committee in Karlsruhe for the last three years and enjoyed putting my energy and ideas to the work for all of you at the local (CSHT, ESK WG) and central (CCOPS, joint committee on Working Time and Hybrid Working) level.
Three topics that were particularly close to my heart and for which I was particularly active were:
Deutschland Ticket, possibility of e-voting and the revision of our Electoral Rules. And I think we were also able to make real progress here.
I would like to continue to stand up for hybrid working conditions, an environment of fairness and equality as well as the opportunity for further development for every employee in JRC Karlsruhe.
I hope I can count on your support and your vote!
I have been part of the JRC Karlsruhe personnel committee since October 2021, an experience I recommend!
My passion for social issues, for equality, for rights, for being helpful to my colleagues, for growing together with each of you, this leads me to run again for these elections. Sometimes we lose hope, we feel alone and small (even though we actually live in an extraordinarily beautiful working environment!) and I want to have the opportunity to transmit to you a bit of positivity, gratitude, solutions. Because I trust that for every problem, there is a solution! It’s just that not all of us have the ability and strength to face things alone. But together everything becomes easier!
More about me? My name is Jessika, I work for the infrastructure Unit, I have terrible English and I think many of you already know me, I have been at the JRC since August 2013. I went from external company to contractual and now I am an official. Feel free to give me your vote if you share my thoughts and you believe in being there for each other!
Our candidates are looking forward to renew the Karlsruhe Local Staff Committee. If you agree, please vote Generation 2004 candidates.
Our priorities are:
- Higher Awareness
Many colleagues in Karlsruhe, particularly the younger generation, know little about the Local Staff Committee. Some have never heard about it.
We will run an awareness campaign on what the LSC KARLSRUHE can do for you and for the local community. Meanwhile, please read this article we published a while ago about the Commission staff representation.
- Better involvement
We believe that the actions and decisions on local social and cultural issues, as well as well-being at the workplace must be driven by the real needs of local staff.
On these matters we will organise surveys, we will meet & greet colleagues, and will also launch open discussions to have your opinion.
- Improved communication
The work of the LSC must be effectively communicated and visible to the local staff by different channels. The minutes of the LSC meeting should not be hidden somewhere within Connected but should be shared instead.
We will regularly organise public information meetings to keep you updated about the latest news and developments.

Our priorities for these elections aim to shape and defend our F. U. T. U. R. E. as Commission staff:
