Generation 2004 is hiring a secretary in the European Commission in Brussels

We are looking for:
A committed CA FG II colleague who brings strong organisational skills, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in supporting both classic secretarial tasks and the daily operations of a dynamic staff organisation team.

The role involves a broad mix of administrative support and coordination responsibilities, working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where digital fluency and flexibility are highly valued.

We’re looking for someone who:
• has a strong sense of initiative and responsibility;
• is organised, detail-oriented and reliable;
• works well both independently and as part of a multicultural team;
• communicates clearly and respectfully with colleagues and external contacts;
• enjoys solving problems and improving workflows.

Main responsibilities include:
• Supporting the coordination of internal projects and events (including video meetings and in-person gatherings);
• Managing communication with members, helping organise surveys and compile feedback;
• Preparing agendas, taking minutes, and handling mailboxes and document layout tasks;
• Following up on meetings and maintaining activity trackers and overview tables;
• Processing basic data in Excel and contributing to smooth day-to-day operations.

Assets and skills:
• Good command of English (main working language);
French is an advantage;
• High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint — OneNote is a plus);
• Experience with communication platforms such as Teams and WebEx;
• Strong digital skills and a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and workflows.
• experience with social media content creation and management (e.g. Facebook, Twitter/X)

The closing date for applications is 27 July 2025 at 18:00 (CEST/Brussels). The candidates will be requested to perform a practical test. The candidates who will pass the test will be invited for an interview that will take place around the last week of August. The post will be available from 1 September 2025, and the selected candidate’s start date will depend on the successful completion of the recruitment process.

Eligibility criteria:
Candidates must already be listed in a valid FG II CAST list. Based on a qualified CV a request for CAST could also be done.
