Generation 2004 recently welcomed the new Director General in charge of HR matters, Gertrud INGESTAD. The new DG started her functions at a period of severe crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In our welcome letter we raised a number of most pressing practical issues and problems relating to the COVID-19 protection measures. While we fully endorse these measures, we know that certain elements can still be improved. We have collected various examples of your many recent difficulties with our new working arrangements like:
- contract extensions,
- parents (schooling and childcare),
- training,
- remote management,
- teleworking rules flexibility and medical claims.
We hope that we can meet Ms INGESTAD as soon as possible to urgently discuss (via videoconference) the issues we have raised on your behalf in order to reduce the burden on all of us who help to keep the EU running and to facilitate as much as possible our life and work. But also on the many other issues faced by our generation of the post 2004 staff regulations reform.
