We are pleased to hear that the Joint Sickness Insurance Scheme (JSIS) has rectified its recent mistake relating to the Netherlands standard-postnatal-maternity-care-package (Kraamzorg) costs. This is indeed a reimbursable cost and the corresponding MyIntracomm site has been updated. This unexpected (and erroneous) change took many recent parents by surprise (especially those who had already had these costs reimbursed for a previous child) and added to their already-understandable list of concerns and worries. We firmly believe that examples such as this show where a ‘live human contact would help reduce the number of back-and-forth exchanges generated by a poor understanding of the needs of colleagues. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then we could also say that a phone conversation is worth a thousand emails.’ (A S.M.A.R.T. Manifesto For A Smart Commission)
Nevertheless we are still encountering cases where these costs are not being reimbursed: check your payslip, if this affects you, please get in touch!
Update 21.11.2024: check also A national-insurance card for colleagues in the Netherlands and updates.
