Newsletter editorial – 16-07-2026

Welcome to the sixth edition of our Newsletter!

This month’s edition focuses on staff rights, career opportunities, mobility and working conditions across the European institutions.

We begin by examining a significant judgment of the General Court in KH v European Commission, a case financially supported by Generation 2004.

Career development also features prominently in this edition. We look at the 2027 Delegation rotation exercise and highlight an important opportunity that many AST/SC colleagues may have overlooked.

We also examine recent developments concerning Personal Security Clearance procedures.

Flexible working arrangements remain a priority for many colleagues. In this edition, we launch a new Generation 2004 survey on teleworking, teleworking from abroad and commuting patterns to gather evidence that will support our continued advocacy for a more flexible and modern teleworking policy.

Finally, we present the renewed role of the Generation 2004 Steering Committee, together with its new Action Plan for 2026–2028 and the creation of six thematic subcommittees. As the Large-Scale Review begins to unfold, we invite colleagues to contribute ideas, experiences and proposals that will help shape our future work and strengthen our collective voice.

If you are preparing for the internal competitions, do not miss the opportunities for trainings offered by our partner organisation Ya Semos Europeos: a self study training for the written test, and a study group on cognitive reasoning. Finally, if you missed the conference on the AST3 internal competition with Ya Semos Europeos, you can now access the recording.

That’s all for now!

Enjoy the reading and do not hesitate to get in touch if you believe we can help.
