Commission Representations rotate anticlockwise? II

As we explained in our previous article on this very topic, there is quite a lot of room for improvement in the current annual reshuffling of staff and posts around the world (‘rotation’) in EU Delegations.

To start with, there is no real provision for the rotation of Contractual Agents (CA), who form a substantial part of the staff in Representations[1]. Continue reading Commission Representations rotate anticlockwise? II

Your opinion matters – Canteens and Cafeterias – evaluation survey

*Update 17.04.2024 We continue to pursue a canteen-price-reduction scheme for Brussels, like the long-standing one in Luxembourg. We continue to see very limited progress.*

Conference: transfer-out of pension rights

By popular demand, the pension transfer-out event will take place again in March. The powerpoint is available by email from the Allianz broker. Additional questions from the original presentation (16.01.2024) are added and answered in our transfer-out FAQ. There will be a presentation and then a question and answer session. What does it mean to transfer out of the pension scheme of the European Union institutions (PSEUI)? Who has to do this? What are the options available?

Certification resit options: let’s pool our information!

*Update 19.02.2025: ‘By default, all [internal] competitions will be cross-category.’ (Stay tuned: A new approach for internal competitions) This is excellent news and should now put the Commission on an even footing with the Parliament and other EU institutions. We hope that this inclusion is genuine and that the competitions are not  otherwise skewed to reduce participation. Participation in these competitions can be done in parallel to the certification: use all your options!* Continue reading Certification resit options: let’s pool our information!

Appraisal dialogues are coming

*01.10.2024 we republish this article for anyone who needs it. Note that the option to reuse the text from previous appraisal means that the chat still takes place, but that there is no new input.* Orginal article: Many colleagues by now have finished their self-assessment and are awaiting the dialogue with their reporting officer. MyIntracomm has information on this dialogue, objectives, the report itself, the timeline and special situations, so is also worth a look (here is the somewhat less-detailed info for reclassification).

A couple of hints for this dialogue are in order [1]. Continue reading Appraisal dialogues are coming

Newsletter editorial – 08-01-2024

We wish you a good start to the new year and welcome you to the first edition of the Generation 2004 newsletter for 2024. The year starts, as always, with the self-evaluation and we are on hand to help. This coincides with the publication of the list of those to be interviewed in the next stage of the 2023/2024 Certification exercise: here’s how to appeal if your name is not on that list and an overview of the normal timeline for the Certification. Continuing on the theme of taking action and, as far as possible,  getting the year off to a good start, we’d like to hear your positive PMO stories. This could also be a good moment to ask your pension-transfer-out questions or to book training for the certification interview. We ask you to sign the European Parliament Contract Agent petition: please don’t let it disappear!  We also present an overview of how to proceed when a JSIS reimbursement does not go as planned: what needs to happen and when?

Enjoy the reading and get in touch if you believe we can help!
